How should we deal with the millions of miles of pipelines in the U.S.?

Ted Cruz tells a young immigrant brought to the U.S. as a kid why he would deport people like her—and the room applauds

At a campaign event on Wednesday, Ted Cruz fielded a question from Ofelia Valdez, a recipient of President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, and one of the hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the U.S. as children who would be at risk for deportation if the policy were reversed.

“As a DACA holder myself, I worried about whoever comes next to the presidency and what’s going to happen to people like us,” Valdez told the Texas senator, audibly nervous.

Cruz, who has said he would use “any and all means necessary” to end DACA, replied, while flanked by a hoard of white men, “I would note, if you’re a DACA recipient it means that you were brought here illegally, and violating the laws has consequences.”
