Hate Rising: Jorge Ramos explores the rise of racism in America
Geek Girl Brunch is a meet-up for ladies who like comics with their mimosas. It started in NYC in 2013 when blogger Jamila Rowser met with fellow geeky writers Yissel Ayala and Rachel for brunch. Sensing a need for a safe environment for women to “geek out,” Rowser and her friends decided to expand the brunches into official groups. Today, there are chapters in more than 50 cities across the globe. FUSION visited the Miami chapter‘s Marvel-themed brunch to find out how Geek Girl Brunch is empowering women as they bond over their favorite fandoms.
