Fusion and NASA will take you to Mars this Thursday
Brooklyn-based duo Buscabulla had a breakthrough year in 2014 with the release of their first, self-titled debut via Kitsuné Records. When Raquel Berríos and Luis Alfredo Del Valle were in Miami recently, they invited us to record them as they performed a bare-bones rendition of their track “Caer” at the beautiful, decaying Miami Marine Stadium.
Built in 1963 in Virginia Key for powerboat racing, the 6,566 seat stadium has been closed since 1992 but has become a hub for street artists ever since. Raquel, who studied architecture in college, had always wanted to visit this spot. “We had a lot of friends who told us about this place wanted to come before they made it all shiny and polished,” she says.” I studied architecture in Puerto Rico and specialized in tropical architecture. It’s all about warm weather and breeze; using the natural sunlight…I’m kind of a nerd with that.”
About the song “Caer,” Raquel says it’s about working hard for your goals. “‘Caer’ is all about all of this crazy process of really working hard to achieve what you want and how much your mind has to do with knowing if you can achieve your goals, it’ kinda a spiritual song, actually. Don’t let it go, don’t let it go…and at the same time, just let it go, girl!” she says.
