After doing some extensive research, I determined that Barcelona played Real Madrid today in a game of soccer. The people call it El Clásico, and it all went down in Barcelona, at a place called Camp Nou. It was fun.
Here’s a recap of this exhilarating game, in wrestling GIFs:
* * * * *
The tension was high at the beginning of the game, and the Camp Nou crowd was ready to be entertained.
The opening minutes were explosive, as they tend to be when Barcelona and Real Madrid meet.
Barcelona drew first blood when Jeremy Mathieu got on the end of a Lionel Messi cross and beat Iker Casilllas with a strong header. It wasn’t supposed to be Mathieu. It was supposed to be one of the other famous guys. Everyone was shocked.
The pressure was on Real Madrid to find an answer.
Enter a popular Portuguese guy named Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Real Madrid. He scored and and then acted like “of course I scored.”
At 1-1, it was back and forth; it was chaos. Both teams took turns spinning each other in circles.
People were getting battered mercilessly. Eleven yellow cards were handed out for acts of senseless violence.
And then Barcelona’s Luis Suarez struck, collecting a long ball with a perfect first touch and finishing past Casillas at the far post. He left to go celebrate.
Real Madrid was shocked. Again.
But it couldn’t strike back. Meanwhile, Barca tried to kill off the game. Luis Enrique’s men attacked and attacked, but couldn’t find a way through.
Both teams tried harder. It was entertaining, but nothing happened.
The referee eventually ended the madness, probably killing Real Madrid’s dreams of winning La Liga in the process.
Barcelona players danced into the night.
