An Emotional Reunion in Ravaged Puerto Rico

These guys are changing hip-hop one bowtie at a time

Step into the closet of Norris Ford and Quentin Thrash, two eclectic, young stylists who are redefining what being a “dandy” means, especially to young African Americans. Their look, or “heat,” as they call it, is pretty striking: patterns should be liberally mixed; when it comes to color, the bolder the better, and details—like shoelaces or pins—are crucial. “It’s more than just putting on clothes when we get dressed,” Ford says. “It’s a performance.”

This is an episode of Weird Threads, a Fusion original web series.
