The creator of the Ice Bucket Challenge has something to say to the next president

If you don’t know Pat Quinn, you almost certainly know his work. He was behind the insanely popular internet fundraising campaign known as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, launched last year. Quinn himself was diagnosed with ALS in 2013 at age 30. He’s still working to raise money and awareness around the disease, and his message to the next president is simple: “ALS is a disease that is underfunded but not incurable.”

We caught up with Quinn at The Washington Post’s inGENuitY 2015 Summit, where he was a featured speaker. Watch his full message to the next president in the video above and then make your own video and add your voice to the conversation.

Fusion is asking young people around the country to talk about their most pressing issues this election season using the phrase “Dear next president … ” You can learn more about the project, hear more voices from the campaign, and learn how to contribute your own video to #DearNextPresident.
