Fusion was in Philly to find out from how the city’s police force has prepared for the convention, especially in light of the recent shootings that have left police officers dead in Louisiana and rising tensions between civilians and those in uniform.
“I think one of the things that frustrates a lot of us in uniform—people think criminal justice, they think only police,” Richard Ross Jr., Philadelphia Police Commissioner, told Fusion’s Dan Lieberman during an interview. “There are prosecutors, there are judges, that are all a part of that process, and so maybe that reform should take place in multiple places.”
