Posthuman: Self-Healing computers can mimic the brain of an infant with brain damage

In this episode of Posthuman, Caltech’s Ali Hajimiri explains his team’s pioneering work in “self-healing” computers. The machines function similar to a brain of an infant who has endured brain damage, in that when one part of their circuit is damaged, they are able to repurpose another part to continue functioning, and in effect, heal themselves.

Hajimiri’s work extends into creating Thz Imaging chips, computer circuits capable of seeing through walls and capturing the most minute movements.
